The Norbulingka is used as summer residence of the Dalai Lamas in Lhasa, Tibet. In the memory of Norbulingka Lhasa the Devote of Dalai Lama & followers of Tibeten culture made Norbulingka Institute in Sidhpur, a suburb of Dharamsala. Norbulingka Institute was founded Dharamshala in 1988 for preserving Tibetan culture, literature and art.
The first thing that struck me when I entered the Norbulingka Institute was the tangible calm that washed upon my senses. A closer inspection revealed the source of the serenity that had greeted me – the running water in various rivulets that almost chime in unison.
The Norbulingka Institute is a must-visit in Dharamsala.
You can watch the artists creating in person, and the venue is situated in a lovely green space oozing with character and charm.
There is a small garden made in japaness style, also there is one Restaurant and Cafe its beautiful place to hang out there. In Losel Doll Museum has diorama displays of traditional Tibetan scenes, using miniature Tibetan dolls in traditional costumes.
Those interested in studying the Tibetan arts can also enroll into short-term workshops here.
Visiting time is 9: 00 Am to 5:00 Pm. Sunday is off day but you can go there with your friends and hang in the garden and can make your day memorable.
